Weather

I maintain a weather station at home because I love the data, and it’s a lot of fun. Plus I get to publish that information in various places. Here’s where you can see more information about it:

https://weather.srhuston.net is the weewx instance that I run at home (on my APRS computer) which gathers and stores all the data. Weewx also republishes things to PWS and Wunderground, though the current weather station I have can do that directly. I have a plugin for weewx that creates APRS data I can then feed to Xastir as well.

https://aprs.fi/weather/a/W2SRH is a link to where that weather data gets to APRS and what is there. It’s basically the same as you’d see on weewx above. I do hope to modify the weewx APRS plugin to get a couple more data points presented to APRS, but I don’t know if I’m enough of a Python coder to accomplish it – or I might have to switch to another plugin. I can’t contact the author of the current one, he seems to have deleted his GitHub account…

https://ambientweather.net/dashboard/c8ed33813fdbdb52678ae60920367ea9 is the URL for my station on Ambient Weather’s network. This is how the data enters the Internet really, since it comes directly from my home station device to there and from there gets sent to all the other places (mostly via weewx, as mentioned above). I’m only publishing the outdoor weather data because you don’t really need to know what the temperature in my sunroom or my freezers is 😀

https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KPAFEAST15?cm_ven=localwx_pwsdash is where Weather Underground tracks my data, which again is the same as all the above just in another location.

Finally https://www.pwsweather.com/station/pws/kpafeast15 is the last place for things; PWS is nice because sending data to them gives me a free “subscription” to some other weather features, so for example a bot I run in IRC can be queried for weather reports and such.
